Designer Paul Vasileff could be called a prodigy. At just seventeen years old, Vasileff launched his first collection, and in the eight years since, has become a celebrity favorite under his label Paolo Sebastian. His designs are both whimsical and sensual, many featuring daring sheer illusion barely concealed by exquisite nature-inspired embroidery.

Vasileff’s latest collection “The Snow Maiden” might indicate that he hasn’t left the Disney movies behind quite yet, calling to mind the recent animated sensation Frozen and fit for a princess. The stunning gowns debuted at those aforementioned sold out shows in Adelaide earlier this year and feature both high and plunging necklines, layers of lace, and Vasileff’s signature sheer illusion adorned with exquisite embroidery and beading. The color palette ranged from pale and dreamy to dark and dramatic, some draped with fur.

This winter wonderland of fashion makes one thing quite clear: Vasileff’s star is on the rise. It’s no wonder the label is now global, with stores in Adelaide, Kuwait, New York, and Singapore.

Supple leather and plush fur give this coat dress a luxurious texture. The skirt interplays blush tulle and black lace with fur panels, and the top consists of a stole and gloved sleeves.

This dress strikes a beautiful balance between ornate folk-style embroidery and haute couture construction, with alluring sheer sleeves and neckline.

Intricate silver beads adorn this elegant ball gown from the fitted long-sleeve bodice to the floor length skirt flowing into a train.

Replete with snow white floral appliqués, this classic tulle ball gown includes sheer illusion sleeves, with a delicate row of buttons down the back.

A diaphanous illusion dress shimmers with beaded snowflake appliqués along the bodice and long sleeves, floating down to the hem.
