Tip #1

The secret to natural-looking foundation is blending. Do this lightly with either a makeup sponge or your finger.

Tip #2

If you have olive skin, use a yellow base foundation.

If your skin is naturally rosy, choose a pink base foundation.

If your skin is dark, pick an orange base foundation.

No matter the shade of your skin, get a foundation that matches your natural color almost exactly. Test it on your jawline to be sure it’s close to the color of your face and neck – testing on your hand is misleading and you can easily end up with the wrong color.

Tip #3
For heavy dark circles, we recommend concealer in a yellow or peach base (depending on your skin color, as explained in tip 2). Make sure your concealer is a shade lighter than your foundation, but not so light as to stand out against your natural skin color.

Tip #4

Set your foundation with loose powder in a matching color. Never use a compact powder directly over foundation. A compact is useful for touchups throughout the day.

Tip #5

The best investment you can make in your makeup is a good set of brushes.  Buy a large, fluffy dome-shaped brush to apply your loose powder evenly.  Natural hair bristles are the softest and do a great job picking up the powder.
